Romford residents need not venture far from their front doors for some fantastic entertainment over the coming weeks
There is a common misconception among anyone who does not live in the area that Romford is just a convenient place to live in order to reach the city or the Essex countryside. Yet this idea that it is only a place to live, could not be further from the truth.
Romford has a thriving social scene that caters to both long term residents and the growing number of newcomers that Romford and Collier Row letting agents are introducing to the area. Here, we take a look at five very different forthcoming events. The phrase “something for everyone” has never been more truly spoken!
Christmas at the Liberty
The festive season must be upon us, as the Liberty Shopping Centre has welcomed back its famous snow globe that has been so popular in previous years.
It gives kids of all ages (let’s say anything up to 92) the chance to play around in the falling snow and get some cracking Christmas family photos. The shopping centre will also be staying open till 8PM every night from 18th to 23rd December, to give everyone plenty of chance for those last minute after-work shopping trips.
Blueprint at the Romford Social
This four piece band has been wowing audiences around Essex for the past 20 years with their range of crowd favourites from the 1960s to the present day. With a repertoire of more than 300 songs, you never know what you might get, but you can be sure that Gary, Martin and the boys will never play a false note.
They will be appearing at the Romford Social Club on 02 December. Doors open at 7PM and the band will start their first set at 9PM.
Season’s Beatings at Fiction Romford
This non-stop boxing extravaganza runs from 3PM till 8:30PM on Saturday 02 December. Presented by Lawrence and Chambers Boxing, it is a must for every boxing fan, and will feature a showcase bout between Ozzy Osbourne (not the rock legend!) and Wayne O’Neill.
The event will be streamed live by MAaction TV station, and will be raising money for the Jacob Jones Appeal, so have a great evening and give generously!
Tricks of the Trade
This ever-popular duo will be familiar to anyone who knows the local music scene, with their unique take on some of the most popular sounds of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Catch them at the Romford Social on 24 December, they are sure to have something very special in mind to get Christmas off to a rocking start.
Christmas madness with Toot n Skamen
If you love ska, you simply have to get along to Romford Social Club on 15 December. Toot n Skamen have become one of the most popular acts on the circuit, and guarantee a night out unlike any other. Their Special Christmas Madness Party kicks off at 7PM and will go on till the small hours.
